We recently wrote to a few organisations talking about design. This morning we had a phone call from a woman at one of these organisations, demanding that we remove her name from our list.Apparently, because they are a Government agency they’re ‘not interested in that sort of thing and don’t do communications’. Muji and Thonet collaborate to launch furniture range

Muji and Thonet have collaborated to launch a furniture range based on two historic Thonet styles. James Irvine has created the Bentwood collection, inspired by the 214 chair, while Konstantin Grcic has designed the Tubular Steel collection, based on Bauhaus designs. Both will be available in Muji stores from August.

Tom Dixon's Design Research Studio commissioned to create the Comet

Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio has been commissioned by Veuve Clicquot to create the Comet - a series of identical installations forming gazebo-like shelters - for the final of the champagne brand’s Gold Cup Polo Tournament at Cowdray Park, West Sussex, on 19 July. The design takes its cue from Dixon’s Comet lamp which launched at Milan in April, and is said to partly replicate the comet found on Veuve Clicquot’s logo.
