Twelve Stars has created the logo for the merged Spanish construction group Obrascòn Huarte. - The logo is based around the mosaic face of a construction worker from the Roman Empire.

Bagel chain identity by Pocknell

Pocknell Studio has created the name, graphics and interiors for a fast food concept, billed as the first properly branded take-away bagel offer. The first of the Oi! Bagel chain is due to open in London's Marylebone station in the second week of December.

Blast's second annual report for the British Tourist Authority combines the contemporary with the traditional. It depicts Britain 'as a place to experience rather than to just come and see,' says Blast partner Giff. The postcard is used as the vehicle for relaying people's experiences, with genuine messages written on the back of each.

The new title sequence for the BBC1 television series Question Time reflects the lively nature of the programme's political debate with 'action-packed, punchy and exciting images', according to a BBC Resources spokeswoman. Created by in-house designers Ian Wormleighton and Rosalind Dallas, the sequence moves at a faster pace than previous titles. The graphics went live last Thursday.

AMX Studios had to get to grips with protestant repression, sex, death and the Royal Family to create the title sequence for the historical film Elizabeth, which opens this week. Portraits and religious icons are used during the minute-long piece to set the mood for the opening scene, which depicts the death of Mary Tudor. The whole project was completed on Apple Macinosh G3 computers.

Deepend goes to Hong Kong

Deepend has designed the graphics, website and CD-ROM for High-Definition, an exhibition produced by the British Council showcasing cutting edge design for digital technologies.Shelton Fleming created the three-dimensional design and project managed the five-day show which opens in Hong Kong next Thursday, and is funded by the Department for Trade and Industry. The exhibition goes to Brazil next spring.

Dome contents need more real content

If officialdom responds at all to the rather quaintly described "polemical pamphlet" In Defence of the Dome, it will doubtless dismiss its authors - James Woudhuysen, Penny Lewis and Vicky Richardson - as "whingers" (see Review, page 36). For, though the trio wholeheartedly support the concept of the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, they rail against its content.
