Typography is transformed into art by Alida Sayer, who manipulates type to create works that resemble stills from 3D animations. Her latest creations, produced for the upcoming show Presence Absence, take printed passages from stories of encounters with altered states, including Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse V and Haruki Murakami’s The Mirror, which are then painted and projected on to layers of acetate.
