Job description

This is an interesting role incorporating many aspects of furniture design and product development working on furniture projects for both the Domestic and Contract Markets including hotels, restaurants, apartments and holiday homes.

The role incorporates the following duties:

• Interpreting customers briefs both written and verbal, which range from initial broad descriptions to tight technical specifications, into product designs utilising computer aided designs using specialised software programming and freehand drawings and mood boards
• Transferring approved designs into practical and workable technical manufacturing specifications including Autocad drawings, cutting lists, construction information and hardware specifications
• Researching and monitoring current and future design trends for future projects
• Production of promotional company material including website updates, brochures and sales literature, exhibition materials and promotional projects

This is a practical hands on role giving the successful candidate opportunities to manage their projects and products themselves through the entire production process and work on the live projects themselves.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable market research and trend identification skills, be able to successfully communicate with customers, technical staff and colleagues at all levels, and be able to research and present materials and suppliers for new and existing products. An ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines is essential along with the ability to handle and work on multiple tasks.
