UCA Farnham beat a selection of shortlisted universities which were invited to Benetton’s communication research centre, Fabrica to compete for the project.
The Live Windows project is giving over flagship stores as the students’ canvas, and third year graphic communication student Ben Findlay has already had his work displayed in Benetton’s Milan, Barcelona, London, Munich and Moscow stores.

Findlay’s work was a St Valentine’s effort which was unveiled on 14 February showing different combinations of brides and grooms atop a wedding cake.

Now more pieces are set to head to Benetton’s European flagships in March. Mark Walter’s Every Drop of Water Counts is a stop frame animation, Harvey Brown has created what Graphic Communication course leader Craig Burston calls ‘kinetic typography with moving letter forms’ and Emily Wright has designed On The Holi Festival – a moving image film of colour throwing which will also head to the New Delhi store.

Fabrica research and innovation director Alfio Pozzoni says, ‘[The students] can experiment with a new kind of language: video content that has to capture the attention of the public in a living environment within a few seconds.’
