Branding group sought for new Manchester arts organisation

A branding consultancy is being sought to create a name and identity for a new arts organisation in Manchester, which is being formed from the merger between the Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company.

The two bodies are set to officially merge in April 2012 and will move into a purpose-built new home in 2014.

Now the Cornerhouse, the Library Theatre Company, Manchester City Council and Marketing Manchester are seeking a consultancy to develop a new brand name, brand strategy and visual identity for the organisation.

The project team says the new organisation, operating from its First Street home, will ‘produce the best in contemporary theatre, visual art and film, learning and participation, creative industries and digital innovation.’

It is seeking a ‘forward-thinking, inpirational’ identity and branding that ‘articulates its artistic vision and core values’.

The project team is seeking consultancies to submit proposals for either the branding, the visual identity, or both projects, and will also welcome joint submissions.

The appointment process will comprise an initial credentials submission, followed by meetings with longlisted consultancies and a presentation by shortlisted consultancies outlining their approach. Creative concepts will not be required as part of this presentation.

The closing date for credentials submissions is midday on 16 December. For more information or to register your intention to submit, contact Clare Sydney, head of marketing at communications at the Cornerhouse, on 0161 2001545 or email clare.sydney@cornerhouse.org.
