Christopher Exeter for Design Council policy post

The Design Council is appointing Christopher Exeter in the new role of director of policy.

Exeter joins the Design Council from his position as head of public policy and research at the NHS IT programme Connecting for Health. This is reputedly the biggest IT project in the world.

Once he joins on 4 January, Exeter will be part of the executive board of the Design Council, leading the Government relations team.

According to the Design Council, Exeter holds a PhD in public policy and is currently studying strategy and innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Meanwhile, the Design Council unveiled its new Window on Design display last week, sited at the organisation’s offices in London WC2.

The window continues the Design Council’s theme of ‘award-winning design’, by honouring the Prince Philip Designers Prize, which last week went to the creator of the Brompton folding bicycle, Andrew Ritchie. The window shows the bike standing in front of Buckingham Palace and a Coldstream Guard.
