Design Museum on the hunt for 2013 Designers in Residence

The Design Museum has put out a call for entries for its Designers in Residence programme, which this year is based around the theme of identity.

Following an open call application process, four designers will be selected to develop projects as part of the programme.

The Design Museum offers a bursary to cover design and manufacture costs and then continued support going forward.

Design Museum director Deyan Sudjic says, ‘This year, the Designers in Residence programme at the museum will be based on an exploration of how design in any field can be used to convey, to create, or to reflect a sense of identity.’

The programme, which has been running for six years, is open to all designers who have graduated from higher education in the last five years, (since the academic year of 2008/09) and who have been working professionally (either paid or voluntarily) in some form of design practice for over a year.

Applicants need to head to the Design Museum’s website by 5pm on 28 February.

A winners’ Designers in Residence exhibition will take place at the Design Museum and run from 4 September 2013-12 January 2014.
