'80s skating revival
Eight artists have been commissioned to customise eight skateboard decks for an upcoming show that the organisers say will ‘celebrate the glory days of ’80s skateboarding - when times were rocking and true legends were born’.

Benjamin Jeanjean
Organised by skate mag Huck and skateboard company Lovenskate, the Rolling Back the Years show - coming to Shoreditch’s Red Gallery, features designs by skate illustrator Richard Sayer and Jimbo Phillips (the son of ‘Screaming Hand’ skate designer Jim Phillips).

Stu Smith
Joining them are Huck creative director Rob Longworth, Lovenskate’s Stu Smith, Owen Tozer of Thisismadeup, and artists Schoph Schophield, Benjamin Jeanjean and Geoff Rowley.

Schoph Schophield
Seven of the artists were exhibited at the original Rolling Back the Years show held last year in Seignosse, France, although Rowley is new for this show.

Owen Tozer
Alongside the customised decks, a series of skate culture photos, taken for Huck by contributors from around the world, will be going on show.
