An imaginative exhibition launching at the Book Club in London later this month sees a host of leading illustrators work in collaboration with schoolchildren.
Bat, by Jon Boam and Thomas
Raarr (pronounced, ahem, RAAARRGHHH!), co-curated by Jason Kerley and Liat Chen, sees 22 illustrators commissioned to draw a reptile, bird, amphibian, fish or insect of their choosing - but without the head.
Cat, by Katie Prior and Eddie
The drawings are then passed to 22 schoolchildren, who complete the works by adding the heads, features, colours, limbs, squiggles - and anything else they can think of.
Orangutan, by Marcus Oakley and Joshua
Contributing artists include Kyle Platts, who has drawn a lizard, Jon Boam, who has contributed a bat, and Kate Prior, who drew a cat.
Mouse, by Robert Maple and Poppy
Many of the younger illustrators, who provided the finishing touches to the portraits, are friends or relatives of the older artists, and some have come from local primary schools.

The works from Raarr are going on sale, with all profits going to the NSPCC.

Raarr opens at the Book Club, a 100-106 Leonard Street, London EC2A, on 19 January.
