Evan Hecox  has built his reputation by abstracting elemental parts of cities of the world, making them seem at first unfamiliar, using colour sparingly.

Each collection tells the story of a city, as seen by Hecox - and now it’s London’s turn.

Here he charts Brixton; Battersea; Regents Canal; the side streets of Camden, and in the East End, Shoreditch and Hoxton, where we lay our scene, in Brick Lane.

Monochromatic near-photo-real interpretations are typical of his style and splashes of colour, often red, sometimes overlaying a relevant newspaper – presumably for some geographical and historical context.

This is Hecox’s first show following a research trip to the capital earlier this year, but he is best known for his work for skate and lifestyle brand Chocolate Skateboards.
