Street artist Ben Eine is to reveal a largescale mural in London this afternoon, inspired by the children’s nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons.
Eine has worked with urban art gallery Art Republic to create the work, which can be found on the side of London Graphic Centre in Covent Garden.
Plans for the mural
Art Republic has worked with Eine for some years now. It was one of the first galleries to exhibit the art of Banksy, who Eine worked with a lot in the early days, producing some of Banksy’s prints, says Art Republic marketing director Andrew Milledge.

The gallery started exhibiting Eine’s work shortly afterwards, and the famous Eine piece that David Cameron gave to US president Barack Obama came from Art Republic.

The gallery approached Eine to see whether he was interested in creating a mural for the 16m by 6m space, and received an enthusiastic response, says Milledge.

Eine has been painting his distinctive letterforms on the wall since Saturday. The piece features the lyrics from the nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons, which namechecks churches from the east end - the part of town where Eine has daubed human-height letters over doors and shop fronts.

The mural can be seen from today at London Graphic Centre, Mercer Street, WC2.
