Last autumn, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design opened its swanky new base in London’s King’s Cross.

Moving facilities from its previous homes at Charing Cross and Southampton Row, CSM’s School of Art is now split between King’s Cross and the Byam Shaw Campus in Archway (a move that caused some controversary last year, as reported by our sister title Creative Review).

Byam Shaw now plays host to CSM’s print studio, which features some of the School Art’s early print machines alongside the latest in digital technology.

CSM says, ‘Students across the schools, Fashion, Design, Art and Performance can access the studio to continue the CSM tradition of combining a love of getting hands dirty with challenging ideas and innovative responses to communication, design and art.’

To celebrate this tradition, CSM is hosting a exhibition marking the 100-year development of printmaking at the school.

From Eric Gill to Eduardo Paolozzi to Yinka Shonibare to Mary Katrantzou, from wood engraving to lithography to digital and 3D printmaking, all aspects of CSM’s printing will be on show.
Analogue/Digital: 100 Years of Printmaking at Central Saint Martins is on show at The Lethaby Gallery, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London N1C until 25 February.
