Laura Jane Boast of LJB Studio has created the Curiosity print – a poster version of which is currently on show in Design Manchester’s Manchester in Mind exhibition.

The exhibition is to raise money for mental health charity Manchester Mind.

Boast says: “To celebrate the worlds’ first industrial city, the poster brings to life 19th-century Manchester when cotton was king.

“It comprises two layers: the word ‘curiosity’ pinpoints the location of nine mills from around 1891 and pays homage to the period style ‘Didone’; while the illustration reveals the process of the cotton industry.”
