Thumbs Up for Partick Thistle, by David Shrigley

David Shrigley has designed these foam thumbs for Partick Thistle fans to wear at the Scottish football club’s match against Dundee United on Tuesday night.

The thumb is based on a 5m-high bronze thumb that Shrigley designed for the Fourth Plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square, that will appear later this year.

Shrigley says: “The ‘thumbs up’ gesture is universally understood as meaning something is good so, as a Jags fan, I thought what better way to show our support than to give the guys a giant thumbs up.”

Shrigley also designed Kingsley, Partick Thistle’s rather unusual club mascot, which was unveiled last year.
