Life on wheels

Perfect for the extravagant festival-goer, or the spouse often banished to the sofa after a row, Cornelius Comanns’ Bufalino tricycle is a miniature home on wheels.

Made as part of Comanns’ degree in industrial design at the University of Applied Science in Munich, the Bufalino is a handy rethinking of an existing Piaggio APE 50 three-wheeled vehicle.

The Piaggio APE base makes the vehicle extra economical as in Germany it is exempt from taxes and congestion zone-type charges and uses very little fuel. Understandably, Cornelius was awarded the Alfred Rössler Prize for the best thesis of the year but whether his little vehicle will be put into production remains to be seen.
