Enterprising consultancies triumph in Queen’s Awards

JHP Design, Chapman Taylor, Paul Smith and a raft of furniture design groups have been honoured for their business achievements at The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

‘This is a particularly good year for design,’ says a spokesman for the awards, which recognise achievements in innovation, sustainability and international trade.

Interiors consultancy JHP and Chapman Taylor both triumphed in the international trade category. JHP has almost doubled its exports over three years to reach £3.6m, while Chapman Taylor has also doubled its overseas earnings over three years to £66m.

Metal furniture designer Burgess Furniture, office and contract furniture designer Zoeftig & Company, sustainable office furniture group Boss Design and robot designer Ocrobotics are also among the this year’s record 194 winners.
