Crank it up again
Following its UK debut last year (https://www.designweek.co.uk/home/blog/pedalling-posters/3018311.article), bicycle-themed poster show Artcrank is returning to London with a host of new work.
Hosted at Old Street cycling café Look Mum No Hands, Artcrank London 2011 features limited-edition original cycling-inspired prints from 24 UK artists and designers, including the graphic talents behind cycling ’zines Boneshaker and The Ride Journal.
Artcrank founder Charles Youel has shot some sneak preview close-ups of the posters, which can be seen in full at the show and will be available at £30 each.
Chris Verbick, who is co-organising the show Youel, says, ‘Bicycles are simple, beautiful machines and riding a bike is like an open invitation to be creative.’
Like last year’s show, Artcrank London 2011 is in support of organisation Otesha UK, which runs cycling tours for young people to promote social and environmental change.
Artcrank London 2011 is at Look Mum No Hands, London EC1, until 2 September
