Scottish government unveils its first design roster

The Scottish government has named ten consultancies on its first-ever design roster.

The roster is part of the broader marketing services framework, unveiled yesterday, which covers work valued at an estimated £40-£80m over a period of 27 months.

The Scottish government has appointed a total of 50 groups to work in seven sectors of the framework: marketing, PR, digital, design, research, events and direct marketing.

The full list of consultancies on the design element of the framework is:

  • Avian Communications

  • The Big Partnership

  • Hampton Associates

  • Kindle Design

  • Lawrence Creative

  • The Leith Agency

  • Morton Ward

  • Stand

  • Tayburn

  • Weber Shandwick

The full list of groups on the digital element of the framework is:

  • Civic Computing

  • Dog Digital

  • The Gate

  • Golley Slater North

  • Innovation Digital

  • Storm ID

  • Story UK

  • The Union Advertising Agency

  • Whitespace

The framework will serve all Scottish government agencies, non-departmental public bodies and health boards, and supercedes the Scottish government’s current marketing, PR and Web framework.

John Swinney, Scottish government cabinet secretary for finance and sustainable growth, says, ‘We are committed to maximising efficiencies, so the focus is on cost-savings.

‘Those appointed will be asked to meet exacting standards, and I am confident that the framework represents the best that the marketing and communications industry can offer.’
