Free Range graduate show set to return

Graduate design beacon Free Range returns to the capital in May showcasing the talents of fifty UK universities and art colleges.

With an eight week residency at The Old Truman Brewary in East London, Free Range dedicates at least a week each to design, interiors, motion arts, photography, art and fashion.

Motion arts and design have yielded some great work in the last couple of years – particularly the interactive stuff, Design Week recalls.

Over 100,000 people are expected to pass through the cavernous brewery which becomes a market for students to connect themselves with their industry.

Industry ‘ambassadors’ will be on hand  to help give advice and take the students through informal workshops.

The design set hasn’t been named yet but fashion graduates will be  joined by fashion designer Giles Deacon and Fashion East founder Lulu Kennedy MBE.

The Free Range website www.free-range.org.uk will become a portfolio site as the shows get underway – but archived material is already on there.

Free Range Art & Design 2012 runs from 28 May – 16 July.  The fashion shows run from 28May – 8 June and are invite only but all exhibitions from 31 May -16 July are free. The Old Truman Brewery is on 91 Brick Lane, London, E1
