Make It In Great Britain exhibition calls for exhibits

Following the launch of the government’s Make It In Great Britain campaign, the Department of Business Innovation and Skills is asking for expressions of interest from the design community for the content of an accompanying exhibition at the Science Museum.

Make it in Great Britain

The Make it in Great Britain campaign is aiming to raise awareness of the importance of manufacturing to the UK economy and will culminate in a Science Museum show running from 24 July – 9 September in parallel with the London 2012 Olympics.

Designers of ‘cutting-edge products/innovative processes’ are invited to declare their interest by midday on 6 January and will then receive a submission pack which will need to be returned by 31 January. Successful entries may be used as case studies as part of a media campaign.

By expressing interest, applicants must say how their product meets the objectives of the campaign and how the product or process can be displayed to engage an audience.

The design community has been speaking to Design Week about its favourite Great British products in the context of the exhibition.
