Sophy Rickett To The River,

Rickett’s audio-visual installation aims to explore the role of the camera as the mediator between people and nature; examining how light and darkness define how we see the space around us. It takes its name from the Severn Bore – a natural phenomenon that takes place when a tidal wave runs along the River Severn during the moon’s equinox.

To The River is on show at Arnolfini, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol BS1 from 3 March – 22 April

The New Faces: A Short film will be shown on 9 March at The Book Club, 100-106 Leonard Street  London EC2A

Learn Something Every Day

Illustration and animation studio Young has created a range of cards from its Learn Something Every Day series of facts. The project came about inspired by, like so many good ideas, a conversation in the pub. Each image is a doodle from a fact submitted by a visitor to the consultancy’s website, and has since seen the project snapped up by Penguin books.
