BCNMCR: Graphic design to unite Barcelona and Manchester
Continuing his drive to unite designers from Manchester and Barcelona, designer Dave Sedgwick is gearing up for round two of BCNMCR – a showcase of design talent from the two cities.
The exhibition, BCNMCR, launched last year, showing work from five studios including Hey, Mucho and LoSiento.
For the 2014 event, the number of participants has increased to 11, with designers and consultancies including Laura Meseguer, Forma & Co, Brosmind and Berto Martinez showing their work.
‘Last year’s event surpassed all expectations’, says Sedgwick.
‘The incredible contributions of the studios left us with some great memories and this year’s line-up of inspirational visitors, drawn from the centre of Barcelona’s graphic design, typography, illustration and branding industry, will offer us further insights into the minds of some of the world’s most forward-thinking creatives’.
As well as showing work, the exhibition will also host a series of talks on the opening night, aiming to explore the design approaches of Barcelona-based designers.
Among the works on show are this retina-wrenching acid house-leaning piece by Alex Trochut:
And these cute superhero cards by Forma & Co:
Which also designed these bright, beautiful materials for Centre Civic:
One of our favourite pieces, however, has got to be this lovely typographic pile-up, but Laura Meseguer:
BCNMR runs from 27 March – 23 April at TwentyTwentyTwo, The Basement 20/22 Dale St, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1. For more information visit http://www.bcnmcr.co.uk/
