North rebrands Yorkshire Building Society Group

North has rebranded the Yorkshire Building Society Group with a new identity system, which will roll out across all of its brands and branches.

YBS Group – the UK’s second largest building society – says the new system has been designed to unite the Group’s high street presence and help new and existing customers ‘understand the benefits of being part of being part of a larger Group’.

The Group, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, comprises the Yorkshire Building Society, Chelsea Building Society, Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, Barnsley Building Society, Accord Mortgages and YBS Share Plans.

Each sub-brand keeps its existing trade name but takes on a new icon and wordmark with a unique colour treatment.

An 18-month roll out has been initiated beginning with the website and the YBS head office in Bradford. The group has 231 branch locations, which will all take on the new look.

    Strong. Bold. Smart.

    Impressive work.

The chasm between the logo marque and type really works against them trying to ‘unite the group’.

All rather underwhelming with a ‘forced’ colour palette.
