11 designers, one format
An new show at The Book Club in London sees 11 up-and-coming designers and artists all exploring the opportunities and constraints of one format – A2.
The Format show tasks designers to come up with ‘visually enticing solutions to portray their interpretation of the given space’ – in this case the limitations of a sheet of A2.
Those exhibiting include Berlin-based Sarah Peth; KN Studio, founded by Koby Barhad and Noa Schwartz, and Liron Gilenberg, who works as a book cover designer for Palgrave Macmillan.
We’re also looking forward to seeing the work of Tomás Louro, whose work is inspired by ‘the early ‘70s funky disco movement in Chicago, the Detroit techno scene of the late ‘80s and the New York hip-hop culture from the mind-‘90s.’
The exhibition is curated by Sarah Peth and Nitsan Dror, both contributors to the show, and directed by Liat Chen.
The Format is at The Book Club, 100-106 Leonard Street, London EC2A, from 21 February-5 May 2013.
