The trophy design competition carries a £5000 prize, and is open to entrants aged 16-24 who are being invited to submit designs which can ‘represent the wonder of modern engineering’.

Organisers say, ‘The winning entry will reflect the creativity, power and importance of engineering so that the trophy is a symbol of the integral role the engineering profession plays in society.’

By using a tool found at www.qeprize.org/trophy entrants will compete and design in an online environment.

The tool has been designed by Landor creative director Daniel Howarth, who has created the means for competitors to ‘make a trophy out of the brand and the brand assets’.

Using the geometric shapes of the identity, entrants might still build anything Howarth stresses – ‘it could be a dodecahedron or a tetrahedron, just as you can with Lego.’
