Glacéau Vitaminwater launches new packaging

Glacéau Vitaminwater is launching new packaging in the UK as it reformulates its range to cut the sugar content.

The new packaging is being launched as part of a project led by Sid Lee Paris.

The Coca-Cola-owned brand is now using a stevia-based sweetener across its eight variants, and has also revised the vitamin and mineral blends in its products.

Glacéau says it is introducing new, clearer labels to communicate these changes, which feature quick-reference pictograms designed to highlight key nutrients.

The brand says, ‘The labels will also showcase updated pack copy, which continues in the brand’s tongue-in-cheek voice.’

Glacéau Vitaminwater was founded in 1996. It was acquired by Coca-Cola in 2007 and launched in the UK the following year.

I have often seen this product line in places like Starbucks and have been amazed by the complete lack of creativity or apparent thought to the packaging design, so when I checked out designweek.co.uk this morning, I thought, at last, they have moved on. Really? Is that it? How disappointing, no creativity, nothing that makes the product leap from the shelf or engage with me, what a wasted opportunity.
