Miller replaces outgoing Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who is becoming Health Secretary.

Hunt had been in place since 2010, and oversaw moves such as the Design Council’s move to charity status and merger with the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, and the launch of a Government Creative Industry Council.

Miller is being promoted from her role as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of Sate for Work and Pensions.

She is a former advertising executive, working for Greys Advertising, and was also previously a marketing manager at Texaco.
