Not in the spirit of the season perhaps, but definitely in the spirit of Black Xmas – a new exhibition curated by Gaye Black, otherwise known as Gaye Advert – female punk star of The Adverts, and now an artist.

According to a spokesman at the Signal Gallery which will host the exhibition ‘her interest moved away from punk to black metal,’ and clearly she was taken with the subtle death/horror leitmotif.

He also tells us that ‘she’s quite anti-Christmas; she’ll have a home-made pizza on Christmas day.’ Rebel.

Black who seems to literally dabble in the dark arts, has called upon a broad base of artists including street artists and a ‘renegade potter/mosaic’ specialist, which according to the spokesman have been instructed to ‘not have a good time’ but also ‘to go for it.’
