A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

Echo's Carling Brilliantly British Campaign

Echo has designed the Brilliantly British Campaign for Carling, owned by Molson Coors Brewing Company. It uses a Union Jack design, and will be used across Carling’s outdoor, press advertising, and at the end of its current TV campaign.

MedTech Triangle Campus branding

Consultancy Fernandez Waddy has created the branding for UK MedTech Triangke Campus, the site for a global health partnership between Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford City Council, Harlow District Council and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Essex. It is influced by Origmi, using a triangular graphic device and bold colour paltte.

Deep Red Creative has created  a campaign to encourage people to watch Euro 2012 in Rileys clubs. It desiugned  web pages, leaflets and posters for the sports bars, as well as a collecyion of short videos for the campaign.

Ron Burnett Design has created new packaging for Ian Macleod Distillers’ Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky range. The desings are infleucned by the island’s scenery, with the colour palette aiming to repflect the Red and Black Hills of the Cuillin Mountains over a watercolour image of the sunset over the Isle of Skye.

Giles Darwin, formerly board client service manager at Lewis Moberly, has joined JDO as client director and general manager. Darwin has also worked for Design Bridge and Coley Porter Bell.

Helix

D8 has created a new identity for the Helix, a project which sees the regeneration of an area of land connecting Falkirk and Grangemouth in Scotland, to create a new outdoor space. The logo comprises three abstract shapes that sit together on an isometric grid.

The Institute of Packaging Professionals, which was set up in the USA more than 75 years ago, has launched in the UK. The institute aims to develop networking and educational opportunities for those involved in packaging.

Fara Carty has joined Identica as business development director. Carty joins Identica following a three-year stint at The Marketing Store. She will be tasked with developing the consultancy’s new business portfolio.

Blue Peter Big Olympic Tour

Origin Creative has designed the identity for Blue Peter’s Big Olympic Tour, which will see the TV show produce a series of live broadcasts following the route of the Olympic Torch. Origin was appointed to the work from the BBC’s design roster.

Butterfly Cannon has appointed Caroline Bland as client director. Bland has formerly worked for Blue Marlin, Brandhouse and 1HQ.

Telling Stories has created a new identity for bespoke mobile bar firm B&R. The consultancy was briefed to create a desirable, high-end brand based on the company’s versatile modular bar system.
