Royal Mint unveils Remembrance Day poppy coin
The Royal Mint has produced a commemorative £5 coin for Remembrance Day, which features a colour-printed poppy.
Designed by Royal Mint engraver Emma Noble, the coin is inscribed with the words, ‘The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month’.
The obverse side features The Queen, and the reverse a red poppy head next to the inscription.
It is available in both Silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated standard from the Royal Mint website http://www.royalmint.com/ and costs £13.
The coin is presented in a folder containing background information to the tradition.
A donation will be made to the Royal British Legion for every coin sold.
