The consultancy has designed the fireworks sequence for the last nine years and Jim Donald, executive producer at Jack Morton, says it will be a spectacular end to a year which saw the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London 2012 Olympic Games.

‘We are honoured to help bring down the curtain on what has been the most extraordinary year for the capital and to once again help showcase London to the world, ’ says Donald.

The consultancy has also created a bespoke soundtrack to accompany the display and BBC Radio 1’s DJ Nihal will mix live music for the crowds in the build up to midnight.

It is estimated that more than 200 000 people will line the banks of the Thames to watch the 11 minute display around the London Eye, while millions of viewers will watch the live broadcast on BBC One.
