For this year’s London Design Festival, Design Week is presenting a series of talks, workshops and events dedicated to graphic design.

Working with our sister title Creative Review, we will present a programme of sessions at the Victoria & Albert Museum featuring the likes of Morag Myerscough, Tony Brook, Craig Oldham and Johanna Basford.

The Design Week and Creative Review Graphics Weekend will be held at the V&A on 19 and 20 September – the opening weekend of LDF.

On Saturday there will be talks from design studios Europa and The Beautiful Meme and a keynote presentation from Spin co-founder Tony Brook.

There will also be a Q&A session with Creative Review editor Patrick Burgoyne and illustrator Johanna Basford, whose Secret Garden adult colouring-in book has sold nearly seven million copies worldwide.

On Sunday there will be talks from publishing house Unit Editions, Pentagram partner Harry Pearce and designers Craig Oldham and Morag Myerscough.

Throughout the weekend there will be workshops from The Girlhood, which aims to empower girls and young women using creativity.

Type expert Sarah Hyndman will present a Pop-up Type Tasting session, in which parcipants can use “font goggles” to reveal what typefaces are really communicating, and match smells to typefaces.

All the sessions are free, with the exception of Morag Myerscough’s talk, which costs £15 and can be booked at www.londondesignfestival.com.
