Less than a second

As information design consultancy Signal Noise notes, time is of the essence now more than ever before.

Indeed, as they surmise, we can now access enormous reams of data in ‘less than a second’, thanks to technologies such as a camera that can capture the movement of light in slow motion, or the Large Hadron Collider – to be celebrated at a new Science Museum show next month– which can capture sub-atomic activity happening at whopping speeds.

From next week, the consultancy is drawing together an exhibition of what it deems to be the best printed information and data design.

The show is themed around the idea ‘less than a second’, with works showing ‘how technology is enabling a vast number of data points and events to be read and understood across a variety of fields – from automated trades to F1 analytics’, says Signal Noise.
