London Bridge to get its own branding

London Bridge is set to get its own place branding, as the redevelopment of the area continues.

The rebrand project has been commissioned by Team London Bridge, an organisation formed by the local business community in 2006.

A team has been brought together to work on the branding, comprising place-branding specialist Placematters, destination development consultancy Ideado Consulting and design consultancy Zulver & Co.

The team was appointed following a three-way pitch.

Zulver & Co founder Andrew Zulver says the new identity would be used to promote the area and comes during a period of redevelopment for London Bridge, which includes the opening of The Shard in February.

He adds, ‘This place brand will not just be a logo and tagline, but will truly represent what the area stands for today, and what the local community and stakeholders think it should be tomorrow.’

Donald Campbell, place Marketing manager at Team London Bridge, says, ‘It is now a good time to reflect – how these recent developments are changing the local area, how they are serving the dynamic and fascinating local community, and what the area needs to do to express itself better.’

A consultation process on the new identity kicks off this month, and Zulver says he expects the new branding to launch in October.
