London Design Guide updated

Deputy London Design Festival director Max Fraser has somehow found time amid preparations for this year’s LDF to update his comprehensive London Design Guide.

The guide, first published in 2009, highlights London’s hottest design retailers, galleries, museums and bookshops.

It divides London into ten design ‘neighbourhoods’ and locals (including Ally Capellino and Sam & Sam Clarke) give their recommendations.

This third edition features details and reviews of more than 150 new and established hotspots across the capital.

For this third edition, a series of essays examine the state of retail and the High Street. SCP’s Sheridan Coakley, Skandium’s Magnus Englund and others examine the challenges of a weak economy, high rents and the threat from internet shopping.

The London Design Guide 2014-2015 edition, by Max Fraser, is published by Spotlight Press on 12 September, priced at £12.
