Mark Artus takes over at 1HQ

Former Fitch chief development officer Mark Artus is to take the reins as chief executive at 1HQ.

His appointment sees the succession management of an original owner-founded company, which started out in 1993 led by a team that included current chief executive John Sandom, former chairman Ray Armes and former commercial director Tom Lovett.

At the end of last year, founder Tom Lovett announced his departure, while former managing director Jayne Lilly and chairman Ray Armes left in early 2008.

Artus, who officially starts next Monday, takes over from Sandom, who will now step into the role of chairman.

Sandom and Artus, who were introduced to each other by a mutual client, say they share the same goals for expansion and growth.

Artus, who spent about 15 years at Fitch developing key accounts in Europe and the US, plans to differentiate 1HQ’s offer to ‘meet the demands of the industry’.

‘Speed to market’ will be critical, according to a spokeswoman.

Vibrandt and Vibrandt Form will continue to be led by Peter Hollingsworth, while 1HQ’s strategic offer – Distillery – will be led by managing partner Mary Say.
