The offices will be led by Uday Vijayan who has been appointed  as director of Imagination India. He joins from Experience Ideas, the consultancy he founded, and is now looking to set up a team of staff, first for the Imagination Mumbai office which opened its doors this month.

The outposts are Imaginations’s first in India and Vijayan will be looking to recruit ‘local staff’ in the long run as well as turning to staff from its global network, according to an Imagination spokeswoman.

Vijayan will work closely with chief executive of Imagination Asia Pacific Mark Barrett.

Barrett says, ‘Imagination’s entry into India is a manifestation of the structured growth plan for the business.’

Imagination is looking to work across all sectors and is currently engaged on live projects with Hyatt Hotels and Andaz Hotels.

The consultancy says it will enter the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi working with brands including Land Rover,  Jaguar, Ford and Tata Motors.

The Imagination spokeswoman says it will look to work across all sectors in the new market.

Imagination could not confirm the opening date for its Bangalore office but confirms it will be overseen by Vijayan.

  • Wow, having stood on the roof of the Store Street offices at the opening party, all those years ago, when the telex machine was on the way out, when the mobile phone had just arrived, brick-sized, how the world has changed.. congratulations, and good luck!
