London Film Museum to open Covent Garden outpost
The London Film Museum is set to open a new outpost in Covent Garden, with branding and digital design from Brand Nu and interior design from architect KPF Associates.
The LFM, which is based in County Hall on the South Bank, is opening a new exhibition space in the refurbished Flower Cellars in Covent Garden.
The space is opening on 21 April with inaugural exhibition Magnum on Set, which will feature cinema-related photography from Magnum agency photographers.
The exhibition will also use iPad technology to enable displays to be viewed in more detail.
Brand Nu was appointed to develop the identity for LFM Covent Garden after rebranding the LFM in 2010.The new identity is based on the original and uses a green colour palette.
As well as the branding, the consultancy worked on all print and exhibition design, as well as the website design and the interactive iPad design.
Jonathan Sands, founder and chief executive of the LFM, says the organisation worked with Capital and Counties PLC, the Covent Garden Area Trust and Westminster Council to develop the museum, which he describes as ‘both creative and functional’.
