Neville Brody’s Yamaha anniversary logo
Neville Brody has designed a commemorative logo for Japanese Musical instrument company Yamaha, which is marking its 125th anniversary this year.

Yamaha says it will begin using the logo and a new strapline ‘125 years of passion and performance’, from next month.
Yamaha says, ‘The [logo’s] geometric approach reflects the pure design aspect of Yamaha’s products.
‘Modular building blocks represent all different facets of Yamaha through the ages. The design also gives a feeling and suggestion of piano keys, lines on a musical score, rhythm and harmony.’
The new logo will be used on product exhibits, events advertisements, websites and elsewhere throughout the next year.

A simple 'because it looks nice and on brand' would do.
