Channel 4’s identity has been brought to life in the form of a 16.6m-high, steel ‘4’ installation, designed by Freestate and built by The Mike Smith Studio, constructed on the steps of the channel’s headquarters in Horseferry Road, London SW1. The sculpture mirrors the channel’s idents, with steel bars forming the 4 logo only when viewed from a certain angle. Nick Knight is the first of four artists who will customise it over the next 12 months.
