Purple creates new look for Zubrowka Vodka
Purple Creative has created a new identity for Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka, using illustrations by artist Kristjana S Williams.

Purple was appointed to the work following a pitch and tasked with creating a new identity for Zubrowka’s UK distributor First Brand Drinks.
The brief was to created branding based around an ‘enchanting vodka’ positioning as well as making the identity completely unique in the vodka category.
For the branding, Williams created illustrations of the Bialowieza Forest in north-east Poland, which is where the bison grass used in Zubrowka grows.

Purple copywriter Jamie Fleming says, ‘We added in multiple layers of evocative detail, so that every time you look you discover something different – an owl staring from a tree trunk, a masked falcon, a grass picker’s basket.’
‘The scene is also peculiarly gender-neutral – Kristjana’s vibrant feminine flowers combine perfectly with the more masculine bison and gnarly ancient trees.’
The illustrations are carried through into collateral such as mats, story booklets and bar collateral.

Purple has also worked on the website and social media strategy for Zubrowka, and worked with events company Gideon Reeling to create a launch event.
The Zubrowka bottle design has remained the same in the project.

Bialowieza Forest is famous for the bisons rather than the grass, which grows everywhere in Poland. Great illustrations though!
