The most decorated consultancies of all time

D&AD is marking its 50th birthday this year, with celebrations due to culminate on 18 September, when it will hold a ceremony to award the 2012 Black Pencils and President’s Awards.

To celebrate its half-century, D&AD is also dishing out awards to the most-awarded agencies in its history, across categories including designer, design studio and advertising agency.

In advance of this it has released a list of the top ten most-awarded consultancies or individuals in each category. At the moment these are in alphabetical order, not order of rank - which will be revealed on 18 September.

So without further ado, here are the top ten most-awarded designers in D&AD’s history, with a sample of some of their award-winning work:

White Pencil

During its 50th year, D&AD is also launching a new award, the White Pencil, which will be awarded to ‘a creative idea with the potential to effect real and positive change in the world’.

Each time the White Pencil competition runs, D&AD will set a brief to solve a problem for a not-for-profit organisation or an established cause.

This year the brief is to grow awareness of Peace Day, which will establish 21 September as a global, annual day of peace.

    If you are in the creative business, you should be doing creative work.
    If you're doing good creative work, your peers at the annual D&AD judging will recognise it.
