The Launchpad section will be showing pieces from Central Saint Martins students, and a name to look out for is Jim Rokos and his clever 77 30 13 Wine Decanter, which can rest at a ‘sober’ 77 degrees, a ‘tipsy’ 30 degrees and a ‘drunken’ 13 degrees, making it not only pretty fun, but also increasing the flow of oxygen into the wine improving the flavor.

Despite sounding rather like a pancake vendor, the Dutch Pavilion also promises to be an interesting area, presenting six brands from the Netherlands in one ‘mega stand.’ Jansen+co is showing the brilliantly named Girl Talk tableware collection, which was created with fashion illustrator Piet Paris.

And if all this browsing isn’t enough, there will also be a number of events and talks, such as  Portas & House of Fraserʼ s ʻ Dragonʼ s Denʼ. This rather scary-sounding prospect will see Mary Portas’ business partner Peter Cross, and a team of scouts from Maryʼ s House of Fraser concessions select their favourite piece. Ten designers each have a ten-minute pitch to convince The Cross that their piece is the one he wants.
