The Steel Packaging Design Awards encourages design students to recognise the potential of steel as a packaging material. Winners will receive a yellow pencil award from British Design and Art Direction and two weeks’ work experience at design agency Jones Knowles Ritchie.

Searching for the best in UK innovation, technology and packaging design, the Institute of Packaging’s Starpack Awards scheme is still accepting entries. The deadline is 17 April.

A date for the diary, Pakex 98, will host over 1000 companies from Europe and the UK. The Design Village showcases marketing, design and other related agencies as they become more integral to the packaging industry. From 30 March until 3 April.
