Royal Mail unveils designs for second set of A-Z stamps

Part two of the UK A-Z stamp collection, designed by Robert Maude and Sarah Davies, launches today.

The first class stamps feature photographs of British landmarks. Each landmark represents a letter of the alphabet. The Queen’s head is printed in white in the top right hand corner with the location name in the bottom left.

Stamps A to L launched last October and feature attractions like the Angel of the North and Lindisfarne Priory. They are now joined by 14 new stamps depicting locations from M (Manchester Town Hall) to Z (ZSL London Zoo).

The stamps are on sale as two sets and as a 26 stamp sheet. They are also available enlarged to postcard size. Royal Mail hopes the collection will draw attention to British tourist attractions.

Maude and Davies have worked on a number of Royal Mail stamp collections before including a collection celebrating London bridges and a set that marked the centenary anniversary of the aerial post.
