Sennep designs LSO Play site
Sennep has designed LSO Play, an interactive orchestral experience for The London Symphony Orchestra.
On the site users can access high definition concert footage from a range of angles.
Sennep says, ‘Users are able to customise their LSO experience by choosing which viewpoints they wish to focus on – up to four at a time. It’s like being in four places at once, including smack-bang in front of Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev.’
The site is designed to be used as a tool for educators to explain different sections of the orchestra from multiple viewpoints simultaneously, or as inspiration for a musician who wishes to focus on a single section.
The user experience and navigation have been designed with simplicity in mind so the footage ‘can take centre stage’ Sennep says. A semi-circular orchestra pit graphic has been used as the mian navigation device.
The site currently shows a performance of Ravel’s Bolero, but new works will be added throughout the LSO’s season.
The site also features masterclass video demonstrations and commentary by LSO musicians and experts.
