The Team rebrands Parkinson’s charity
The Team has rebranded the Parkinson’s Disease Society as Parkinson’s UK.
In addition to the new name, The Team has created a new strapline, cyan-and-black logo, stencil-inspired typeface and visual identity, all of which will roll out with the new name in April.
The Team was tasked with creating a new brand identity in January 2009 following a credentials and strategy-led pitch against 11 other consultancies.
The Parkinson’s Disease Society tasked the consultancy with raising the charity’s profile and appeal to new members, says Nicola Brian, the charity’s director of communications.
Brian says, ‘We wanted the redesign to open up a proper dialogue with members to see how they wanted their organisation represented and give them a stronger voice.’
Dan Dufour, brand consultant at The Team, says, ‘This project was not about creating something behind closed doors. We went around the UK to get people’s stories. It was fantastic to see them included in the brand.’

It would be nice if they'd used a proper apostrophe. That's very lax, considering it's part of the logo.

Love it. Bold and self-confident. A charity brand that gives a lot of those 'big name' commercial brands a run for their money!

Absolutely agree – what kind of designer uses this kind of apostrophe? Still, if it's to roll out in April perhaps they could change it as it really spoils an otherwise SUPERB logo. The concept of the strapline as part of it works so well.
