This is the second of WWF’s Pandamonium events, following on from 2009’s debut.

In that inaugural event, contributors including Jason Bruges and Tracey Emin created artworks based on WWF’s panda collection boxes.

For this event, a host of contributors have been tasked with creating a piece of wearable sculpture or performance.

There was no stipulation to include pandas in the artworks this time round, but plenty of the artists (notably Stuart Haygarth and Sian Evans) have gone for a noticeable animal theme.

The works will be unveiled during the Pandamonium event in Hyde Park on 24 May, before being auctioned to raise money for WWF.

Georgie Bridge, head of design at WWF, says, ‘From developing the initial commissioning process to actually seeing the pieces come alive, it has been such an incredible project to work on.

‘Each artist has carefully thought about the diverse range of environmental issues that our planet faces – and the results are striking.’

The Pandamonium event will take place on 24 May in the Old Gate House in London’s Hyde Park. Tickets are available from pandamonium@wwf.org.uk.
