Organisers Cut & Paste create various design battles around the globe with the London leg taking place this week.

Four teams of 2D/3D motion and animation  designers will face-off, armed with concept boards, 3D models, and polished style frames, delivered to a hypothetical brief.

Cut & Paste founder John Fiorelli says, ‘There’ll also be a surprise constraint – probably in the final round.’

The first 15 minute round sees teams present concept boards comprised of photographs and sketches in a collage, before 3D models are developed over 20 minutes where ‘teams will model and map the textures for the primary object, character, or concept for their final styleframe’ organisers say.

In the final Styleframe round, teams are given 20 minutes to create a polished composition to express up to three scenes of their proposed video narrative. The rules state: ‘It should include key aesthetic choices and should imply the narrative.’
